Out 2025 and was a good movie! Jeremy White (The Bear) did a great job as Springsteen. Based on the time period right before Bruce became really famous, it shows his uncertainty for the future, and his struggles with his past. Worth the watch!
TRIVIA – Bruce became close friends with actor Jeremy Allen White during production, gifting him one of his own guitars to help him prepare,
Sing Sung Blue
Biography, Romance, Music, Based on a 2008 Documentary
Another 2025 movie about music that we enjoyed! Based on the true story of a couple who formed a Neil Diamond Tribute Band. It covers their love story, their career, and their highs and lows. This couple was LEGENDARY in their town, and loved by so many, so it was cool hearing their story.
TRIVIA – Scene when they meet Neil Diamond wasn’t quite true- the wife met him by herself years later.
John Candy- I Like Me
Documentary, Biography, Comedy
Released in 2025, this was put out by John Candy’s adult children. We ADORE John Candy, and he was clearly loved by so many others. It was wonderful hearing all of the inspirational back stories. Great documentary!
TRIVIA – John’s last movie was Cool Runnings which was a huge success, with it being the highest grossing live action from Disney Pictures at the time. This was also the final film for Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice).
Jerry & Marge Go Large
Drama, Community, Relationships, Based on True Story
Based off of a HuffPost Article, this came out in 2022. This was on our list for awhile, and glad we watched it- especially with such a great cast, and a good, true story.
Newly retired, Jerry (played by Bryan Cranston, from Breaking Bad), figures out a math loop hole in the lottery system so starts betting big money. Eventually, him and his wife (Annette Benning, from The American President) decide to open a type of club to include their neighbors. When a group of college kids figure out the same tricks, the competition starts to break everything down.
TRIVIA– Annette married Warren Beatty in 1992 who used to quite the heartthrob! Now more of a recluse, he has a close relationship with his sister Shirley MacLaine (Steel Magnolias).
Love on the Spectrum
Docuseries, Romance, “Reality TV”
Started in 2022, and is a few seasons in. My kids encouraged us to start this show, and we are just on Season One! This series is about seven adults with autism who decide it’s time to start dating. Along with a therapist who helps guide them, they learn more about how they want to live their adult lives, but also learn a lot about themselves.
TRIVIA– While participants are not paid a salary to be on the show, producers cover all dates and transportation costs.
