No, we’re not actual 1950s housewives standing around in pearls making gelatin molds and judging your casserole choices.
Well… not most days.
The Hungry Housewives started as a fun name for a group of women getting together to swap meals, but over time it became something bigger: a place for creativity, community, casual food, local makers, holiday chaos, family stories, and all the beautifully imperfect things that fill our home.
Our family started when David and I met in high school in Northern California, then eventually landing in the Pacific Northwest where we raised kids, took ownership of an 1898 Victorian home, organize large community events, decorate excessively for holidays, collect too many projects, and feed whoever wanders through the kitchen.
These days our home is full with four generations, craft fair planning, half-finished ideas, pets, grandbaby laughter, and at least one person asking if the washing machine is empty.
This site is where I’ll be sharing the stories behind our events, favorite local finds, recipes, decorating ideas, holiday traditions, small business spotlights, family life, and the occasional behind-the-scenes glimpse at this beautiful chaotic life we’ve created over the years.
And with our 12th Annual Craft & Vendor Show coming up this October, it felt like the perfect time to finally create a home for all of it.
I’m so glad you’re here!
Alisa
